particular acts are described as fruits of idolatry...
definitely...

but then idolatry is not just lying prostrate before idols or worshipping idols.... its the debased determination of man to play god or to accept anything else other than the true God himself as the supreme over his life....that is idolatry....

when man rejects the authority of God and his statutes over his life, Romans says that God gives them over to follow their own lusts and desires.... which ultimately spirals down from bad to worse acts along the way..... and its along this downslide that the "specific acts" are mentioned...

and i am still not trying to convince anyone....

well...

we all will be judged based on positions we take.... me for my position and you for yours....

God has given each one of us the freedom to decide.... decide anything and whatever...... decide even on the interpretation of the scriptures...

i see your choice....and you can see mine.... i respect your choice.... i perhaps have the liberty to express mine.... i cannot convince anyone... that's noy my duty... i am just supposed to witness (speak my experience and understanding)....

everyone decides for himself.

Hi geo:

Sorry for my assumption that geo wasn't your real name.

You write as if Holy Scripture has a plain sense upon which everyone can agree. That's false. The Romans passage has Paul identifying particular sex acts as the fruit of idolatry. How can gay persons say Jesus is Lord if that were so. Moreover, homosexuality has been part of many cultures and appears in every mammalian species. Your position, no matter how you try to identify it with God's will, remains unconvincing.

I bother about you because I'm trying to see how we can all live together in Christ on this world we share.

Be well,

hey stuart,
I see you have made 2 assumptions

1) that i have not used my real name on the blog. what makes you conclude that?
2) that we hate or abhor gays! who told u that?

continue to seek christ. no one is deterring you.

the bible, where we all find Christ says in
Romans 1:26-27 Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion.

God has ordained things in a certain way. when you pilfer with it, change it at will, to suit your desires, you don't challenge me or anyone else but God and his revealed will....

we only speak-out what we read-in in the bible as 'wrong'. Societies and cultures (thru history) worldover and all of nature too gives similar cues....what else shud we say...

it doesnt matter what time of history or which part of the world anyone is born in, God has ordained same limits and principles for every man... man only thinks that he has become more modern and progressive.... and therefore he has become eligible for more and more of acts that were earlier 'do nots'... God's word is the same forever...

You shud not bother about what me or anyone else says...just bother about what God says...that alone matters

You may have wished to be born into a different time or a different nation but, unfortunately, you are living in a time and a society where gay and lesbian persons are your neighbors. You won't be able to convince us to give up our partners and/or children and your theological opinions won't deter us from seeking Christ.

That's the problem with neighbors, they may not be who you want. If neighbors were, it wouldn't be a commandment to love them (i.e. to see God and value in them as they ARE not as you wish them to be). So, I'm curious, since we're your neighbors how do you intend to live with us.

p.s. I'm a big believer in everybody using their real names on Christian blogs. I think it leads to more civil dialogue and respectful conversation. What do you think?

That is exactly how i feel about homosexuality too...
People in today's generation are not only doing crazy things but they are also trying to justify the same by asking for equal rights...

I totally agree with Mr Michael Savage.

These people are not normal people and rights are for normal people.

Here's one more video

Michael Savage who calls himself an "independent-minded individualist" and says that he "fits no stereotype" goes vocal on his nationally syndicated talk show 'The Savage Nation' and spews venom on 'same sex' families. Listen to these excerpts from the talk show.....

Savage criticizes "big government", homosexuality, and liberalism, accuses the media of "liberal bias," and champions environmentalism and animal rights. He has said that there are three aspects that define a society: borders, language, and culture.
