Forgiving to Forget - The Sequel

By: Blesson (April 22nd, 2008)

Hey Gigibhai your blog on the act of forgiving (Priyanka Gandhi forgiving to forget), is what inspired me to write this sequel. Thanks for that blog it was very touching and very well written …

Evil, can never be fought and won, evil has to meet its equal or more powerful rival, before it can be (eradicated) stopped. Evil was the act of bombing and victims were those who experienced the loss.

The effect of every evil deed continues even after the actual crime is over, as evil would continue to haunt and terrorize the victim by bringing in painful memories, hatred, vengeance etc.. Even though the victim of a crime may come to terms with the pain and loss, evil at every step will continue to victimize the victim !

No amount of punishment on the perpetuator can make evil come to an end. As none of these acts, can help wipe the pain, hurt and trauma that the victim experiences and continues to suffer at each step, due to the continued perpetual force of evil.

Due to this, millions stay victimized their entire life, even when the crime is over and the punishment on evil is effected. This continued haunting influence of evil reveals its worst heinous intents and the force of ‘evil tastes’ reveals its success - the slow cruel death of the victim by wrenching the victims bleeding heart, that’s when the original intent of evil is climaxed and its wicked purpose fulfilled.

However, there is a force that can stand up to this immense evil power - its Grace and Love - reflected in the act of Forgiveness, it takes evil by its horn and hits its at its most vulnerable, bringing it to its end.

While religions, culture, philosophies all over the world continue to propagate what the elitist call ‘tit for tat’ or religious call the ‘laws of karma’ – where for every evil deed you’re punished, only to go back and come again just to fall back in the same vicious circle. Finally, to end up doing the same evil deeds again and again, only to bear its consequences.

Humanity is just left helpless & hopeless - Except for the CROSS.

Cos its uniquely on the cross that we witness the grueling, gory and horrific war where evil once for all meet an overpowering rival – Love/Forgiveness/Grace. When abuse, insult, injustice, offense, insolence and disrespect was hurled at the Jesus on the cross, evil didn’t have a boomerang effect – evil ceased .. it stopped. Jesus while being in the agonizing pain cried on the cross – Father forgive them for they do not know what they do ! ….

Forgiveness is an awesome weapon that is held only in the hands of the one who is violated. God calls out to humanity “though your sins are as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall be like wool.”

While forgiveness can be free, it never comes cheap. What a solace it is to know that your sins are forgiven and your deeds forgotten … I got it. It can be yours for free!

    well said.
Actually if i put in my thoughts i would say that that the after effects of the actual crime is more bitter and more dangerous.
Though it be a small sin, its fun doing it , though it be fraction of a moment, killing, stealing and banging your enemy.. but after the act you start repenting for your life…Had i not done this….

Evil can never finish evil..an eye for n eye..or even more…whatsoever be the proportion u have kept to take revenge or if nothing. then just sitting with loads of bitterness, anger. criticism etc inside…it never really brings peace to anyone…Its easy and its a natural impulse to take revenge and settle accounts..thats what the world teaches us….but it takes guts n lots of courage to forgive/show grace/love…but I would say, its a need…a need of our own more than the other person’s… as a great writer once put it…”unforgiveness is like eating the poison and waiting for the other person to die!!”

Its not an easy task to forgive anyone when we are deeply hurt n wounded as was Priyanka, i am sure…but it was her need in order to not let anger and bitterness rule her………..whats our choice..?? the bitterness poison?? or forgiveness that gives life to u as well as the other person…..

I know one thing…those who know to forgive have known the very heart of the LORD…take courage…and see for urself the miracle “forgiveness” does…

    GOD BLESS
