Hottest Trouble Spot
By: Sudha (May 24th, 2008)Friday saw rioting Palestinian Arabs torch the wheat fields of Israel and later on, pelting stones at the local fire brigade personnel – exactly a day after a recorded message purportedly from Osama bin Laden called on Muslims to break the Israeli-led embargo on Gaza. He also declared Iraq to be the perfect base to set up the Jihad to liberate Palestine.
Bin Laden, who was behind the terrorist network’s 09/11 attacks, has been in hiding since the U.S. assault on Afghanistan that followed those strikes. His last public statement was an audio message issued in December, when he urged his followers in Iraq to continue battling U.S. troops there. But he has his eyes trained on Israel too.
Now if you thought that Laden was the only guy who eyed Israel, then you need to know that there is also an ambitious leader in the present Iranian President! His eyes too are trained on Israel!
The Iranian President, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad claimed while visiting Syria and Hezbollah at July last year that he hopes to defeat ‘the region’s enemies’ – a call for Israel to be wiped off the map. His answer to the anxious reporters was, “We hope that the hot weather of this summer will coincide with similar victories for the region’s peoples, and with consequent defeat for the region’s enemies.” Hmmm….Israel again.
When he said, “We” he certainly meant Syrians and Hezbollah guys. However if we think rationally for a while, we wouldn’t be able to ignore the close ties that Iran shares with Venezuela, Cuba and China. Venezuela’s President Hugo Chavez, while commenting on the increasing ties between Iran and Venezuela, said that Venezuela and Cuba were “United now and forever with the Iranian revolution, which has proved to the world that it has become the fuel for revolution.”
Now, strangely, we can see some common interest among these countries? Of course yes, Oil! Cuban oil is cementing some interesting alliances among a handful of nations already getting the jump on the U.S. in the race to exploit this oil field at America’s back door. The Chinese interest in the Cuban basin is very transparent however Venezuela and the European Union are the other two key players who wouldn’t want to miss a chance when it comes to oil.
While these alliances are being forged, I think we shouldn’t forget to keep in the backdrop the research rocket launched by Iran pretty recently and also its first major space center. I believe that the kinds of technologies needed to launch a satellite are the same as that which are needed to launch a long ballistic missile. So well, looking at all these, we shouldn’t even overlook the nuclear confrontation of Iran with America!
Growing international dislike for America and anything to do with its foreign policies or interests is very evident and perhaps obvious too.
But, what is the reason behind the confidence of these nations and their outrageously bold leaders? If there is a “sinister” plan awaiting implementation, it would require 1) strategy, 2) consistent cash flow and 3) much-advanced technology than the US or any western countries.
It is perhaps the time to raise quite a few questions but the most important one still would be, “Where is the monster money that funds all this coming from?”
Well, majority of it might be coming from the oil and looking at the way crude is going up, there is pretty much coming that way at this point of time! Is that kind of a cash flow ensuring the production of another major export – terrorism?
Apart from oil, trafficking of illegal drugs can also supply cash flow. Now this route can not only enable organized crime, subversive groups and terrorist organizations to sustain their administration, but also can substantially fund the high cost of the bullets, bombs, explosives and chemical compounds which have to be employed while executing any “dirty” plan(s). So what do you say, huh?
So we have now looked at varied leaders: leaders of nations and leaders of banned terrorist groups. They have common interest, somewhat common resources, and strangely a common Goal too!! And what’s that? If you look closely, where are the eyes of these varied forces and their leaders fixed?
Israel - the hottest trouble spot on earth! And their common motto: Wipe Israel out.
And what is Israel doing about it? Technically, nothing. Last year’s Lebanon-Israel conflict is a prime example.
131 hours and 50 minutes. That’s all it took for the tiny nation of Israel to devastate the armies of Egypt, Jordan and Syria between June 5 and June 10, 1967. Contrary to that, a recent pole showed that a majority of Israelites are willing to give away their once-precious land. Their military no longer fights with the conviction it displayed during the 1967 war. Without the will to stand up for what is theirs, the Jews in Israel cannot hope to survive much longer as a state.
Now why am I blasting international politics on the blog?
I couldn’t help but put myself in the place of Israel. Now you may say, “What!!?” But yes, there is an increased pressure on the human mind and heart from all directions to give up what is theirs and give in. Now I can almost hear many of you say, “What the…?”
I am talking about ethics, values, morals, principles, eternal truths. While people all around us are giving into the easier way to dominate their lives, I feel like Israel, seeing no meaning in fighting against a system that is rotting to the core. Through the day, the temptation to give in to the values and motto of the now-and-here generation is overwhelming and compelling.
Looking closely at the events, happenings, accidents, sensational news, the common problems and deviations of man in every culture and land, and the stress that any thing and every thing seems to be generate these days and the patterns, I can’t help but feel some kind of a common interest, common resource, and a common goal working behind it all! Is there some mastermind working to make man helpless. To defeat his will so that he yields to the pressure of giving up values, morals, and principles that made people like Jesus Christ!
Though the hottest trouble spot on earth does seem to be Israel, I choose to differ. The hottest trouble spot is deep side our souls, where attacks and claims are being made on who owns the human soul! Mine and your souls!!
Like Israel, it will now take more than pure will to stand against this pressure from all sides. Israel, looking at history, very soon is going to train their attention to heaven, to Yahweh, the same God who has never failed them, whenever they called out to them. History is witness.
Will Yahweh listen to me? I think He has. You?

In a recent TV documentary on drugs, I was surprised to note that more than 70++% of opium consumed by the world is produced in Afghanistan. Guess whats more startling ?…. its said Al Qaeeda was protecting the farmers producing it.. and in turn making money out of the trade to fuel their ends… I was shocked to know the war on terror has taken such a turn… ultimately the war is to be fought in each ones heart - the true hot spot, to finally remove evil out…
A set of rules, brute force, or anything else cannot change our hearts, our hearts need to be changed, that alone is not sufficient, we must be constantly supplied with the power to walk the change - something that only GOD could offer…
