Let’s never get lost again!

In today’s Times of India, Nokia the mobile giant has released an ad in the front page for their new handset “6110 Navigator”. The punch line of the ad is “LET’S NEVER GET LOST AGAIN”.

I believe the ad is highlighting two things.
a) The GPS feature of the handset and most importantly
b) Its also highlighting the human being’s vaccum in his heart that says to him sometimes or always that he’s lost in this world and this handset will fill that void and in turn will give the individual a high that says yes, “Now I can never get lost”.

Yes this is a very attractive ad campaign and the company has, I’ll say, succesfully managed to hit that void in the heart. Nokia over the next few days is planning to sell some lacs of handsets and this handset will make you feel that we can never get lost with this device in our hand.

But something about the punchline really bugs me. Why the punchline of “LETS NEVER GET LOST AGAIN”? Why the word “again” is used? Does that mean that we are already lost or is it questioning our sense of getting lost?

In the last eight years of my professional life, I’ve used more than 10 handsets. Every handset had a feauture that always attracted me and filled some of the emotional quotient in me. But I still felt “LOST”. The fact is, this handset or some other device, some other thing might fill that void in our life for ’sometime’. But in this hard pressed times, competitive times, demanding times on all fronts, be it family, colleagues and the people around us, I think a particular thing can not fill that void of ‘Lost Forever’.

But I sometimes try to think it the other way round. When we where young, our parents always guided us whenever we used to go out with friends, that what we should do and what we should not.

A manufacturer of a Washing Machine will always mention in the ‘User Manual’ how to use it so that we are not lost in finding the important switches. Even a simple Notebook has lines and date columns in it so that we always don’t get lost in writing dates and writing straight. On the roads, we always find signs and signboards telling us the directions and distances…The list is long…

One day I saw a kid in a mall full of crowds. It was a weekend and he was crying for his mother. Later there’s an announcement that such and such kid wearing such and such dress is lost and within next fifteen minutes they got united!

Now there could be a logical conclusion to this. Could our Creator God, who’s so loving and has made such a beautiful world for us to live in, not have given a device, like the Navigator, by which we are never lost!! And HOLD ON!!! Since He’s and Eternal God whatever He does and creates, the essence of eternity will always be seen in it, that means He would ensure that by having ‘that device’ with us, we are not lost, not only again and again and again but till ETERNITY. He would have created a device thru which we would never get lost eternally! I guess, this understanding should stop our quest of buying products to fill the void in us.

I think to get lost is one of the most painful things. For the one who got lost and for the ones who will search for him. The need of ‘not to get lost’ is in-built in our hearts. Nobody is willing to get lost at any given point of time. But the fact that we see all around us of various products, programs in our daily activities is that we are always provisioning for ‘not getting lost’. But the hard fact is that no product, no programs etc can come in front of the human race and say that “yes this will guarantee you that you’ll never get lost”!

In the same way when we are lost, Our creator, Our Father is hurt more than us.

But the truth is our Creator gave us a device not today but 2000 years ago by the name of ‘Jesus’ and thru Him, by accepting Him, God promised to us that our life will never get lost, even in eternity! And let me tell you that device will not cost a single penny of your money but you just need to open your heart to Him.

God bless.

Very touching and very honest ….
The saddest thing in the world sometimes it seems to me is that we fail to understand we are lost … like the prodigal, everyone seems to enjoy the ride while running out of precious life, throwing pearls to swines, and waddling thru slime ! Truly with all the mess happening around and crooked ways we need a navigator - to be with us all the time .. Hey that reminds me of the Spirit !!

Hey Paul…. Thats said very well… I think we are cooking up a ‘Cutting Edge Market Place Theology’!! hahaha

Luke 15 caters to three kinds of Lostness….
the Lost Coin, which was helpless and was sought for and found,
the Lost Sheep, which could have helped itself but is now trapped and can’t find it’s way back on its own, and
the Lost Son, he who could help himself back, helped himself back and received back that what he had lost!

So there are people in varied degrees of ‘lostness’ out there, and we have a task at hand,
sometimes use a broom and light,
sometimes a staff and all our courage and
sometimes just wait on the terrace….

Let’s do all we can to ensure that “they never get lost again…!!!”

When we believe in our lord Jesus we will never get lost where ever we go. Only thing which i want to share is, live by faith, 100% trust in our Lord Jesus, 100%.
Then even if we get lost, he will always be there as our Shepherd to guide and protect us…
