‘Grey Divorce’, as it is increasingly being called, is on the rise. Couples who remain married for decades together are seeking divorce! The Gore divorce annoucement came as a shock to the Americans especially because just about two weeks earlier they had celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary and 40 years is a really long time! As a couple they have survived emotional upheavals, the likes of which few could imagine. During their stint for the White House, and earlier even as ‘Monicagate’ loomed large over Al Gore’s political future too, they created the public image of a couple deeply in love. (more…)

Humans yearn to be bound to someone in their lives to draw a meaning to their life. To lead a solitary life, unattached to people, is impossible.
In relationships, romance takes the laurels! It is still the most celebrated subject in movies made worldwide and more so in India! Strangely, in our traditionalist country, a lot of it is still in the celluloid! There’s an evident disconnect between what is shown and what is! Another reason I am writing is that I could not bear to listen to your voice on the phone, it is too painful for me, I still remember when you would keep calling just to persuade me to give our marriage another chance, but I believe I was blinded by the beauty of my colleague then to reconsider my decision to go through a divorce. But I guess it is now too late to think on those issues. (more…)

Husband alleges that wife doesn’t wear modern clothes.
Another alleges that wife doesn’t have table manners. Still another felt that his wife didn’t gel well with his colleagues. Another alleged that wife refused to drink in some of the office parties. Another liked someone else after marriage and started finding faults in his wife. One husband was angry because she got out of bed late and didn’t make him the morning tea to sip along with his newspaper. A more enterprising husband felt that his wife didn’t experiment while love making! A wife suspects her husband of seeing someone else due to coming late from office everyday. Another feels that it is not right for her alone to do all the household chores, afterall, she is working too. Another feels that because she washes his inner wear, he should wash her inner wears too! Many other wives do not want to stay with their in-laws. Some are not happy because he gets angry and shouts.
