Ahsaas Channa, 9 year old, and having just finished working on Phoonk, the much awaited Ram Gopal Verma horror flick, insists that she’s a regular kid who likes to go out shopping with her mom and throws tantrums so that her mom buys her a doll. But as soon as cameras roll, she becomes a professional!
I would like to work with Aamir sir and Amithabh(ji). No more suffixes like ‘uncle’ intended. She praises Darsheel’s work in Taare Zameen Par but feels that she would have done that role better! She goes on to say that Aamir Sir and Yash Chopra are the best movie makers in the industry and that they can bring out the best in her! Ramuji is an amazing director, she adds. She has found that she likes challenges and she would like to do a role that challenges her skills, like Rani Mukherjee in Black. She has concluded that boys are big time losers and that she can easily bully them around. (more…)

The train chugged powerfully thru the drizzle as I kept waiving. This was the beginning of a journey; a journey which just like the train was powerfully pulling the load attached, moving against all odds, piercing thru darkness, thru the cold wind and the rain – unstoppable.
It was not the pull of the train that powered the journey, rather it was something else more powerful, that was moving forward – It was the journey of Truth. My mind couldn’t forget the young child’s smiling face, less than a year old. The journey reflected innocence, trust and childlike faith. This friend of mine was traveling out to a very remote jungle to meet an unknown tribe, a tribe which still is centuries behind the normal world, cutoff from the rest of the world this tribe still lives in prehistoric stone age era. “mmm… this dress does not suit me…give me another one”….well this statement is old. Now the trend has changed.
Now it sounds like this…”mmm… this nose does not suit my face structure, give me another one!!!”

Shocked?? I was, when I learned about this new trend that is “in” among the youth of this generation particularly the teens. Today, the teens are ready for undergoing an operation at a very young age for making the desired “alterations” in their body for the “feel-good” factor. It supposedly makes them more confident and boosts up their morale. They are even ready to suffer the side effects of these operations in order to look good. (more…)
