The Gospel of Neetu Chandra

By: Blesson (July 4th, 2009)

Neetu Chandra did succeed in churning up a dust storm in the media with her newest pose, which according to many of her applauders was bold. Honestly I feel, she doesn’t realise that she is too naive and is being used as an object to feed the media pages with sizzles. The journalist and the media group that put up her larger than life images, I am sure would not have been filling the pages with tons of support and appreciation nor felt the pride if it was their daughters, sisters, wife or mother. But then who cares when you get a free ride on someone and they allow you to use their story to spice up hungry audiences and heinous ends. The sickening thing is that even she seems to be loving it, and appreciates the raving eyes and desires of debauched minds of people that feed in with a peep in to her - what they call truckloads.

While the media which should have used its purpose to bring truth out, has been contrarily portraying it as if she has achieved something that has blessed humanity and I am sure, if they are permitted they would even end up giving her a noble prize! Look at the amount of support that they have published towards this, every comment is in her support and the only one that is seemingly anti was the one which lacked a good spine. I resisted so far writing on it, but with today’s account and feature in the Times, I thought it was too much.

The entire episode gives a clear glimpse of what our culture and society is inching towards. Now listen to what she has to say about her being right in doing so … she quotes “Well, what would you call the sculptures in the caves of Ajanta and Ellora, a place where tourists from all over the world visit? What would you call these works of art where two beautiful females bodies come into contact with each other, posing for an artist to create an exquisite work of art?” Well what she states is, because people visit Khajuraho, Ajanta and Ellora and revere them as sacred, what she has done must be revered too! I am glad at least she didn’t say in the same breath that she will be doing that what Taliban have immortalised or the walls of Auschwitz and the holocaust torture chambers portray and want to be praised as well. It wouldn’t be even slightly controversial if she would also say that the acts of Josef Fritzl, the Surti trio and every other wickedness that happens around must be revered too, because – Blame it on the temple.

Any belief that has the word ‘God’ appearing in its text does not necessarily become truth. Truth is simply not what is portrayed on the walls of religious places, nor is truth governed by what people or the majority feel is right or wrong. When truth is thrown out of the window you no longer have a scale or an absolute to measure what is right and wrong. Neither does sincerity determine truth. It would be cruel to tell a blind man on the edge of a cliff that it doesn’t matter which way he steps, as long as he is sincere.

She further adds “I want men to enjoy themselves, and I’d love it if the lads enjoy my photos,” and then Times deviously promotes her philosophy adding – “she smiles. Now who could argue with that? All we can say is, go girl!”

Pick up the daily news and you can understand the impact when the national media applauds and imprints these corrupted and disgusting values in the hearts of hundreds of young men and women. Bear in mind that pornography is still a big reason for suicides, rape and divorces. Hundreds of lives are destroyed, marriages shattered because of the impact of pornography in the lives of young people which has devastated their imagination.

I wonder if the lad she referred to would be her son? Arre No, no! Well this is for the audience and they demand it, we are just actors. So the actors are smart and the audience is dumb. While the audience thinks with money they can get anything and the actors are dumb, each making a fool of themselves.

Jesus said “Let your eye be single for the eye is the light of the body and if the light within you is dark how dark is then your darkness”. Beauty is an extraordinary gift given to us by God. But like all gifts, its not a gift given to us in a vacuum. The bible teaches us to “Worship the lord in the beauty of holiness” which means beauty has a fence and must be grounded on the Holiness and character of the creator who made it. William Blake commented once on the eyes “these life’s big windows of the soul, distorts the heavens from pole to pole and leads you believe a lie when you see with the eye and not thru the eye.” What he intends to tell us is to see thru the eye and with the conscience! However we live in a society that has ended up seeing with the eye, devoid of a conscience. While I am not the one who can legislate for the artist what he/she may or may not do in a free society. However as every art is the overflow of the heart of the artist, the art definitely is dictated by the worldview (beliefs and thoughts) that the artist carries within. Hence the analysis must not be done on the expression of the art but on the worldview behind the art.

She further states “But this controversy has given me my individuality. It has helped me to graduate to another level. I have found supporters who not only appreciate just my acting, but also appreciate my glam side. As an actor this is how I am willing to push the boundaries of my profession.” I am sure that the surat trio also got the individuality by their deeds and the world is full of disillusioned people who for the mere reason of individualism ended up doing foolish acts! I pray that the nation does not end up deriving its individuality from controversies!!

Our kids are being seduced to believe this daily when the society applauds and celebrates these acts. I am sure you haven’t forgotten how the media went around campuses asking what fashion they are going to wear to college this year – as if it is the clothes that they wear and the style that they parade, gives them individuality and not the simple fact that we are human, distinguishes us and should be made the basis of our individuality.

We have become a society which has consumed the most with its eyes and has become so sore that it now no longer understands that it is blind. Bible teaches us that “God made us in His image”. This fact is what gives us individuality irrespective of what we earn, or our caste or popularity etc., that world religions, philosophies, cultures and media teach us. It is not in disrespectful parade of bodies that we derive our individuality. Think of the mental turmoil of our children who try to struggle with the voices of their conscience which the present day culture and lifestyles drum down stating – if you ve got it flaunt it - create your own personality by creating controversies. How would we respond if her beliefs were stated in a court when someone is tried for a debauched act, would this account as truth ! When we take what is created holy by the creator and toss it out as trash, we are infact devaluing ourselves.

I heard of a girl who in order to make her own individuality followed this thought to get pregnant (by whom, she doesn’t know) and then finally aborted the baby in her womb to present her work in the art halls of her college - add the jingle “my art is a part of myself”! When we look at human beings without the value, the creator places on them, we end up treating humans more like commodities. When the media, society and people applaud this, we are teaching our children to have a depraved mind and educating them in to imbecility. And so whenever the artist or the media portrays beauty devoid of the creators purposes we end up only degrading ourselves and digging graves for our children.

Oscar wilde who lived a hedonistic life very clearly exhibits that there is a price to pay in the novel ‘Dorian Gray’. An artist once asks Dorian, a very handsome young man to become the subject of his portrait. Dorian then asks for a wish that it would be wonderful if he could live any way he pleased and that any disfigurement of a lawless lifestyle would only mar the picture but leave his own countenance unblemished. Wish granted - a few years later the artist returns and demands to take a look at the portrait. The artist was horrified to see a heinous and blood marred portrait, the portrait told the story – truth was out. The artist pled with Dorian to come clean saying “does it not say somewhere, though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow?” but in anger and in an attempt to silence the voice, Dorian grabs a knife and drives it into the artist killing him instantly. And then in an attempt to remove the only visible reminder of his wicked life, he stabs the marred portrait. A cry rings out in that house, when the servants run in, they find Dorian lying dead on the floor so disfigured and marred that his servants were unable to recognize him, while the picture stood there in its former glory. The artist, the media and people who applaud it, living under the illusion of mere beauty, regardless of its purpose and disrespectful of its creator, while being disfigured forget that there is a price to pay. They surely will pay, and remember the coming generations will not remain unscathed.

Holocaust was the direct result of building up a generation devoid of God, disrespectful of His character. If we sow truckloads we surely will reap heap loads. For the atheist we are all a bunch of chemicals and hence there is nothing that is wrong or right, for the pantheist and monist “Neeta chandra is a god, as everything is god – right or wrong does not exists”. Tell this to the young girl who was violated in surat or try to pacify your pains.

While Neetu Chandra’s nor any man’s gospel can offer us truth, hope or salvation. God still beckons us to look up to Him and serve Him in the beauty of Holiness. Truth is expensive – God is Holy, hence Jesus shed His blood to cleanse us and that is the True GOSPEL.

Well written bro. The media of all types has nothing to share and show but sleaze. Young people religiously read the last pages of Ahmedabad Mirror and times. When our young generations are feeding on news and stuff like, who dated who, who’s getting pregnant with who’s husband, who’s showing what part in which magazines, they are bound to have thoughts and actions whihc will result in cases like “Neetu” and Surat rape.
I think the media should think now diffrenetly to come out of just sleaze to get the readership or TRP’s.

If all started thinking like what writer has said then all the world would have become free of satans and evils. My views are that because of such satans and evils we felt the prescense of god. Rather then complaining how it would impact society at large, try creating so strong values that such thing doesnt effect the generations to come. We cannot change individual but ofcourse we can change ourself. No religion has offered what is right and what is wrong only me and you has interpreted in that way. Better stop cursing others.

Truth is truth not because we believe in it…Truth is Truth whether we believe in it or not. It is not because of the darkness that we can see and realize and understand light, the fact of the matter is, in the absence of light, all we see is darkness. So, its the light that gives definition to the darkness and not the other way round. And in the same way, it is not the satan who gives definition to God or God’s existence, in fact, in the absence of God, all we see is all kinds of evil prevailing. God is the standard with which we can judge something to be wrong or right or good or evil.

If we all use our own definitions and interpretations of good and bad and right and wrong, then this world will be a blunder. Say for eg.on a traffic signal, if I say, I think green is for stop and red for go, this is how i interpret it..(which is wrong but I interpret it that way) and others should not curse me and not be effected by me..others should just have very strong values and strong conviction about their own beliefs so that my acts don’t effect them. Is that possible?! I am sure it will be a havoc on the road and we will be heading for an accident. We need to check the standards and be sure of it.

Yes we can not change everyone but just ourselves…but until we all make that effort to change our own self, we can not escape the destructive effects of a decaying society at large. Was it the weak value system of the gal in Surat who was used and thrown at will of the 3 men, that led to that horrifying tragedy?(We can not go to the victim or her family members and tell them to stop complaining or cursing the accused). Our daughters may be people of strong values but how can we ensure in today’s date that they are not effected by someone else’s lust? In a society like ours, the media plays a big role in forming public opinions, beliefs and choices of life and we can not deny this fact. Media has thrown open what was done in private, for public viewing and we see the effect of it everywhere. I think its not how strong our beliefs are but whom or what do we believe in, that matters. It is the heart of the people that is corrupted and needs a complete transformation.

The Bible says: “For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornication, thefts, false witness, slanders.

What I don’t understand often is the comparison with Ajanta and Ellora or Khajuraho that people make? Are these caves some kind of a ’standard of acceptability’?

If the Indian Society is this orthodox now, what would it have been a 1000 years back? More forward? Have we become more orthodox now than then? I think such display was equally unacceptable then too… but a few hedonistic and pervert rulers used the taxes of their subjects to indulge in and even sculpt/paints on walls their perversion and excesses for the generations to marvel, envy, celebrate and even pose!! These indulgent rulers were riding on the whims, practices and fancies of fanatic religious bigots, or at least had their inspiration or backing, because these in turn had their own twisted gains in propagating such ideologies and practices!

We Indians have perhaps got into some kind of a bizarre mindset where in we glorify anything that is 100 years or older! Too much of nationalistic propaganda during and after the anti-British struggle has trapped us into a framework where in we consider everything linked with our culture are sacrosanct and hallowed and we look at it through the lens of veneration! I hope that a 100 years hence our progeny will not look at us and what we leave behind as the same….cos I don’t think we are venerable!!

We also want equality and parity in everything about life except when it comes to our decisions and choices and the way we live it… suddenly we pull up our planks and start talking about “to each his way!!” Media too harks that point of view… but too much ado about such freedom won’t change the universal application of God ordained laws and principles on each of his creation… laws that pervade the physical and even into the spiritual… Our attempts of individuality on the facade of duality is faulty… its time men everywhere think more holistically…

    Thanks Pk for your response.

I totally agree with you that the responsibility to make the world a better place lies totally with each one of us. Unfortunately it is this commitment, to be subject to, and accept the truth that has become the reason for discord among people across the globe. It seems that even when people know and understand the truth, they ignore it and try to subdue its voice in order to pursue their ends.

However I do not agree, to one thing that you said – “My views are that because of such satans and evils we felt the presence of god.”

I think we do not need evil to know or experience the presence of GOD. Else that would make evil more a necessity than GOD, to explain things to us. It would mean that GOD would need evil to survive and make His presence known, if deeply thought it further means that the chariots that carry GOD is pulled by evil and satan.

While on the contrary we know that GOD is True Holy Good & Just and in His nature there is nothing that is evil, nothing that is dark, hence it leads to a logical and philosophical contradiction viz - How can darkness and light be together ?

If this is so, then Evil is greater than GOD, cos God’s survival is dependent on evil. So who then is the real God? Evil or GOD ?

I think on the contrary we need GOD to explain evil … evil is like the hole in the doughnut, the void can only be explained cos the doughnut exists, not otherwise. If there is no GOD, then there is nothing good, cos then how do we define what is good? Cos Hilter would justify what he did is good and so would the surti boys, by whose standard then will we judge ?
It is only when we find our anchor in GOD, we can truly define what is good - as only GOD is absolute. Evil cannot exist on it self, we need to first have the good and only then we can explain the evil. Evil hence is the absence of good. As Darkness is the absence of light, and darkness cannot exists by itself. I would like to illustrate it this way - we do not have to switch on darkness to make the room dark, we just need to switch the light off and where there is no light, there is darkness. Hence light is the necessity and not darkness.

Your above referred statement would be true only if the concept of Maya or illusion, as taught by many world religions would be true. However there is a major logical contradiction when someone makes the statement “ everything is maya ( illusion)” – cos if that statement has to be true then, the statement itself must be absolute ( non maya / non illusionary), but that is exactly what it is trying to disprove. Simply put it undermines itself. We will need a brain liposuction to believe it :-)

I wrote the blog, in order to make everyone reading it understand the fallacy in popular beliefs and the way the modern man thinks. It was purely with a purpose to make people reading it - think. It was never with an intention to curse people. Sometimes when there is so much of darkness around and for people who have started to accept darkness as a norm, we can only change their perspectives by switching on the light. To check if a currency is counterfeit we simply have to certify it with an original. I don’t think its rude, if we see a blind man at the edge of a cliff about to fall and ask him to stop and explain to him what lies ahead ! Hence, the contrast.

Truth has its anchor in the character of GOD, it never depends on our interpretation neither can it be changed by our agreement or disagreement. I think it is due to this false belief, that every one can have his or her own truth, that many religions and philosophies exists.

I agree with you, if we all change ourselves we will change the world. Lets do it !!
