He was citing in the interview that just as some people are born black and some white, just as some are tall and some are short, being gay is not a choice....its just who they are! They are born gay. They are wired differently. What do you say? |

| alok Says: 2nd Jan 2009 01:35:26 PM absolutely... in the ramayana there is a very short incident... hindus are ashamed toking about it... but i feel it is deep and true... rama met a man who loved a man... but the brahmin caste did not approve of this love... rama said to the man that in his past life he had loved so many women that he was obsessed... and he had himself decided to take birth as a gay! [one thing what rama sed; and i do not agree with it; is that he considered it as past life's sin.. NO.. in no way it can be called a sin if he had loved many women... we have another god! krishna... lol...] |

| Robins Says: 6th Jan 2009 12:44:39 PM Homosexual was a new word for me during 1990 when I first heard about it, I read in a magazine regarding a protest against a movie director for making a movie favoring Gay relation. Today the hottest controversial and discussion in the US is about inviting Rick Warren for the inauguration (swearing in ceremony) of President elect Barak Obama. Simply because he is against Gay. This shows us the transition of Society in last few years. Homosexuals are forming communities, beginning to mock family system and God. They have redefined "good" and "evil" and view with contempt the idea that honest work and sex within marriage are communal acts necessary for human survival. A physiologist , who treated over a thousand homosexuals, concluded that they bring a superficial attitude in order to cover underlying depression and guilt. Some journals suggest that most of them are obsessed with thought that they have right to cross the moral boundaries as compensation for the “Injustice” they faced during their life. However modern science and researchers have brought forward several evidence Gays or lesbians are not produced by Social rejection. Few disagree. What makes them Gay? There are 3 School of thoughts 1. Its biological and caused due to genetics or hormones 2. It’s a mental state or Illness 3. They become of victim of bad habits and the involve in lot of self-indulgence making them sexually accommodation and experimental The First argument has not being proved by any researchers and not a single genetics , hormonal or physical difference between a straight and a gay. 74% of their gays admitted to having been sexually aroused by a female and 80% of lesbians said that they had been sexually aroused by a male. So this argument fails . SO do I agree is its NOT congenital. The second argument has no scientific evidence . All major professional mental health organizations have gone on record to affirm that homosexuality is not a mental disorder. The Third thought prevails. Homosexual impulse and influence can be due to 1 Homosexual experience in childhood 2 An absent, distant, or rejecting parents 3 Sibling with homosexual tendencies, particularly one who molests a brother or sister 4 Lack of spiritual environment 5 Family with more homosexual family circles (rare in India ) 6 Excessive masturbation 7 Exposure to pornography in childhood 8 Raped during childhood (symptoms for Lesbians ) Homosexual lifestyle is dangerous - Homosexuals are more vulnerable to sexually transmitted disease (STD) - Homosexuals were 3 times as likely to have attempted suicide - Homosexuals are 4 times vulnerable to murder someone. - Homosexuals averaged less than a year of sexual fidelity - 1/3 of Homosexuals have multiple partners I am no SME (Sub Matter Expert) but it appears to me that participation in these activities, like drug abuse or any other chosen behavior, is a combination of will and opportunity. It’s a proven fact that Gays can be turned to Straights and Spiritual commitment seems to be the most helpful factor in avoiding homosexual habits. I would suggest all leaders to read “Welcoming but Not Affirming: An Evangelical Response to Homosexuality” by Stanley Grenz Bible speaks against Homosexual relation in Romans and Leviticus . Homosexuality is beyond social and medical science and transformation can only happen thru self-determination and thru Christ. Homosexuals often have feeling that they are being persecuted or avoided. They have animosity towards ALL religion because they feel excluded from Spirituality. Specially if the fall in the hands of a Malayalee then they will be bombarded with quotes of hell-fire and judgment which is generally ineffective. I would say Leaders should educate Church first before bringing a Homosexual to Church. It wont be easy. We should be willing to reach them and be ready to provide the supports necessary for homosexuals to leave the lifestyle. The church must be able to present itself as a loving and God-revering institution. Looking into the growth of LGBT community, I would suggest that evey church like Grace should have atleast one male and female trained to deal with Homosexuals. |

| A Christian Says: 24th Jan 2009 03:38:13 AM Catholic Priest Henri Nouwen, one time professor at Harvard University, whose lectures were sought after around the world, was single and in one of his books he reveals that he had homosexual tendencies. But he never lived that way for the sake of Christ! Even if you are wired or born that way, without going into the specifics of it, I believe you can still live in the way the Bible tells us to. |
